'Jessica Jones' Season 2 Will Be Directed Exclusively By Women

Girls club.

Most badass superhero show Jessica Jones is doing good things for women in front of and behind the camera. Jess shreds all of the stereotypes in the show's high tension episodes, savaging dudes on the regular (and giving very few phucks about everything). Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

Exhibit C:

You get the idea...

The showrunners are also keeping things real behind-the-scenes, with executive producer Melissa Rosenberg announcing that the second season will be directed exclusively by women. Melissa shared the v good news during a panel at University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism this week. Speaking at the Transforming Hollywood 7: Diversifying Entertainment panel, she said that all 13 episodes of the show's much anticipated second season will be directed by ladies.

Melissa also spoke on the diverse staff of writers behind the show's twisted yet relatable storylines, saying:

"When I interview a writer, I'm less interested in what you've been doing professionally than I am in where you're from, what your parents do, what's your life experience, what are you bringing to the table personally? I don't want a bunch of people who look and sound [like me] and have the experiences I have." Word.

Big ups to the Jessica Jones fam for doing its bit to address gender inequality in Hollywood.
