#neverforget Movie Edition: 'The Hairy Bird' ('All I Wanna Do') ('Strike!')

Up your ziggy with a wah-wah brush!

Welcome to #neverforget, the place where great things like surf brands, butterfly clips and Toadie "Toadfish" Rebecchi are given the love and respect they deserve. This week we're paying homage to The Hairy Bird aka THE greatest lesser-known teen girl film to ever grace our TV Screens/VHS players.

Set in a boarding school during the the sixties, The Hairy Bird (which was called All I Wanna Do in the US and Strike! in Canada) had everything you could possibly want in a film: a sassy cast, a secret meeting place, a school dance, sabotage, bad boiz, feminist protests etc. FYI: the Australian title, The Hairy Bird, was obvi the best because it translated to "penis".

This film taught us many life lessons, but mostly that sisterhood rules. So, without further ado, let us present to you our humble tribute to The Hairy Bird.

Firstly, the girls' super secret group is called the D.A.R. which stands for the Daughters of the American Ravioli, because that's what they eat in their meetings (duh). A feminist collective named after pasta is something we can get behind.

The group championed the phrase, "No more little white gloves", which is also great 'cause gloves are annoying and THE WORST.

It made you play: which one in the crew are you? Were you alpha-woman in the making — Tinka Parker?

The naughty/sassy/sly Verena von Stefan?

(Who makes good lols).

The politically/sexually active Odette?

The self-counscious sweetie Theresa "Tweety" Goldberg?

The v smart Maureen "Momo" Haines?

Or, god forbid, the turbo nerd Rachael Leigh Cook?

Boy crews are also strong in the movie with a pack of dreamy street-smart dudes called the "Flat Critters" headed up by a young Pete Campbell.

Tinka and Snake 4 eva.

Our 13-year-old selves really wanted our crush to drive a cherry picker up to our window and take us away into the sunset. Still waiting.

There was a Haden Christensen cameo.

The OG: "The girls have gone wild!"

And this phrase being said, a lot.

So much sisterhood.
