Oyster Playlist: Ben Fester And Preacha's 'Sunday In The Sun' Mix

It's getting hot in here.

We've teamed up with Astral People and FBi Radio to curate Summer Dance, a series of good time summer events at the National Art School in Darlinghurst. If you haven't checked it out yet, this is your last chance — and it's going to be a scorcher. With Moodymann, Ben Fester & Preacha, Andy Webb and Christ Barker on the line-up, you can expect it to be a party to remember.

Ben Fester and Preacha have been good enough to share a playlist exclusively with Oyster to get you in the mood for the big event, inspired by Sunday in the sun. Time to get loose.

Theo Parrish — 'The Rink'

This one is guaranteed to put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip. Skates recommended but not essential.

Sun Palace — 'Rude Movements'

This wins an award for being one of the most appropriately named tracks by a band that also has a fitting name. A real cosy groove with some pretty rude synth work. Gets me every time.

Donald Byrd — 'Love Has Come Around'

I can't help but spread my wings and pretend to fly around the room whenever this gets dropped. Might have something to do with his name. Produced by Black Moses himself Isaac Hayes.

Universal Robot Band — 'Disco Boogie Woman'

Can't not have a little move around to this one. An instrumental disco jam with a large horn section and a cheeky but classy little synth line.

K15 — 'GWRH'

Hard to go wrong with the instantly recognisable riff from Crystal Waters' house anthem 'Gypsy Woman'. Fuse it with sun-drenched synths and rolling Latin rhythms and you've got yourself an instant classic. Well done K15.

Shinichiro Yokota — 'Do It Again'

All the elements of this song seem to work so well together while still remaining interesting and a bit off. The vocal sample is perfect. Really happy to see a lot of this guy's stuff getting reissued.

Yambu — 'Sunny'

We all love a bit of Boney M but this Afro-Cuban take on 'Sunny' is the one. Check Milton Hamilton doin' the damn thing on the keys throughout.

Carmen — 'Time To Move'

This one brings those good sun vibes no matter what the weather or time of day. All smiles.

Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band — 'Sunshower'

The perfect way to cool down after a long hot day. Big thanks to Dough Boy's mum for putting me up on this one years ago.

Jack J — 'Something On My Mind'
